Rescue Your Hifz
without extra effort

Use proven memory techniques of spaced repetition and interleaved portions to rapidly improve your Hifz quality in the same time it takes to do a monthly loop.

Spend time where it's needed

In a traditional loop (daur), you revise each portion monthly, whether it was perfect or barely recalled.

Muraji' sets a revision schedule separately for each portion. You revise the easy parts less, creating space to revise tough sections more.

Feel your Hifz improving daily

Every portion returns after a gap that works for it, starting as low as one day. The gap is increased gradually as you improve. You will soon find yourself, after only a few repetitions, recalling even difficult sections more than a month later.

Master long Surahs, one passage at a time

By interleaving passages from different parts of the Quran, you face a steady mix of difficult and easy passages each day instead of an entire difficult juz' in one challenging day.

Review

You will get a list of rukūʿs most beneficial to review today, up to your set limit.

Why use ruku's?

Rukūʿs were a scheme of portioning the Quran into sections appropriate to recite as a unit in Salah. In non-Arabic-speaking regions, they are explicitly marked in the mushaf. The most widely accepted portioning has 556 rukūʿs, ranging from half a page to two pages in length each.

As you move between different parts of the Quran, a rukūʿ allows you to experience a full, unified message before moving on. This leads to a more spiritually rewarding experience, insha'Allah.

New

If there is space for more until your set limit, new rukūʿs will be introduced.

Why limit new rukūʿs

Introducing new rukūʿs only after you strengthen existing ones keeps your review load sustainable. Expect new rukūʿs to be 20-40% of your limit.

How it worksfor each rukūʿ

Rukūʿs are presented one by one. Continue reciting after the displayed āyah.

Recite the rukūʿ without preparation. This is not a test, so do not force perfection.

Reflect briefly on each mistake. See if you find patterns, meanings or just repeat the āyah a few times to gently correct your memory.

Rate the rukūʿ as Easy, Good, Hard, or Again, based on number of mistakes.

The rukūʿ returns on a future date, set based on its entire recitation and rating history. Easier rukūʿs get longer intervals.

How it worksover time

  1. Days

Feel steady improvement in your Hifz

Each rukūʿ returns after an interval that is right for it. You will see the rukūʿs you covered gradually improve.

  2. Weeks

The algorithm adapts to your memory

The algorithm keeps track of how each passage improves and sets an appropriate interval based on its entire review history, becoming more accurate as you use it more.

  3. Months

Your Hifz becomes easier to maintain

After you cover all your memorized rukūʿs, this method will continue to improve your Hifz and reduce the time you need for daily revision.

Meet your Hifz where it is

Do not worry about your existing Hifz level. You will start this method as a new Hifz student. Only this time, you will:

  • Progress much faster since you have already memorized it once before
  • Enjoy the process by interleaving hard and easy sections of the Quran
  • Efficiently improve what you covered through spaced repetition

Frequently asked questions

What if I forgot parts of the Quran?

If you can recite a page from the forgotten section with 5 minutes of preparation, this method should still work for you insha'Allah.

How long will this take?

Go as fast as you can sustainably, and you can complete it in the equivalent of 5-10 complete loops of the Quran (or your memorized range). At a pace of 12 rukūʿs per day (which takes as much time as 1 average Juz), you can finish this in 6 months insha'Allah.

Can I use this app to memorize the Quran?

The app currently does not help with learning new sections, but you can use it to efficiently revise the sections you have already memorized by selecting a custom range. Trusting that you can maintain what you have will motivate you to memorize more of the Quran.
